The message "Render Creation Failed" will usually occur if the Windows Desktop is not set to 32-bit True Color. Use the steps below to change the Windows Desktop to the 32-bit True Color settings.
- Click Start, Settings, then Control Panel.
- In the Control Panel, double click the Display icon.
- Once the Display properties appears, click the Settings tab.
- Click the down arrow by Colors select the True Color / High Color (32 bit) option.
- Click the Apply button and restart the computer if prompted.
If the True Color 32-bit option is not present, the video card in the system is most likely not supported by Morrowind. Morrowind only supports video cards using the chipsets listed below.

If the video card in the computer is not on the list, then Morrowind will not function properly.

If the video card is on the list, but the problem persists, please contact the system manufacturer to obtain the latest DirectX 8.1 compatible software drivers for the video card.
